Cooking 101

Westinghouse School, 1943

What fun, I would have loved to be part of that class!!  My great-grandma first row, right side, second one in was a demonstrator for Westinghouse. I have a few of the recipes she use to demonstrate one day I will get them out and share them as well.

If only today's demonstrations where like then.......demonstrations today consist of samples of processed foods at your local bulk food stores.

  5. very cool Tami! and what a blessing to have her recipes!

My neighbor (a Martha Stewart of sorts) often talked about starting cooking classes, teaching the basics which have been forgotten. She makes everything from scratch...and it's really good! :) Learning to cook with 'real' food is sorely missed in our nation today. I just found out our local school isn't offering home ec. classes anymore and we're in a farming community, so sad!

    have a blessed Sunday!
